Lisa Quintela is an associate in the firm’s Technology, Intellectual Property, Corporate, and Entertainment practices. She offers advice and assistance to clients in a wide variety of industries with respect to digital media and technology transactions involving software development and joint venture agreements; consulting services; non-disclosure agreements; e-commerce and Internet transactions; mobile application development, distribution and compliance issues; social media issues; end user agreements, terms of service, privacy policies; online sweepstakes and contests; domain name registrations and disputes; outsourcing; technology licensing; and domestic and international data security and enforcement issues.
Ms. Quintela also advises clients on intellectual property matters including allocation of ownership; copyright and trademark registration, protection and enforcement; recapturing of intellectual property rights; and licensing and revenue sharing agreements. She has experience in structuring and negotiating a broad range of entertainment transactions in connection with film, television and theater finance, production and distribution; music licensing and recording contracts; and book publishing agreements on behalf of a diverse array of clients including producers, investors, studios, renowned directors, actors, musicians, authors, design firms, and multinational video game and consumer electronics companies. Additionally, Ms. Quintela's practice focuses on commercial transactions in the areas of corporate finance, entity and capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock purchase transactions, and general corporate governance.
Prior to law school, Ms. Quintela was an entertainment journalist, serving as a writer and editor for publications including The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, LIFE magazine, Premiere, Time Out NY, The Village Voice, Latina, Theater News Online, HOME magazine, and Women's Day, among others. Ms. Quintela has also worked in film/theater production and development for Jean Doumanian Productions, and served as an acquisitions consultant for independent film companies, during which she attended various film festivals including the Cannes International Film Festival, the Berlinale, and the Venice International Film Festival.
Ms. Quintela is fluent in Spanish.
