Susan's primary practice areas

Susan Bodine represents a diverse clientele in the motion picture, television, and digital media industries. Her clients include major and specialty motion picture studios, cable television networks, media lenders, private equity financiers, as well as production and distribution companies, and individual directors, writers, and producers. Ms. Bodine provides clients with counsel in all phases of development, finance, production, distribution, and rights administration regarding motion pictures, television programming and new media properties. She also handles domestic and international clients’ issues with rights acquisitions, production legal work and film and television sales and licensing. She advises a number of high-profile writers, directors and producers, working with them and their other representatives (agents, managers and business managers) on all aspects of their careers.

Ms. Bodine has been an adjunct professor of Entertainment Law at UNH's Pierce Law Center’s Summer Institute of Intellectual Property and a guest instructor at Columbia University Graduate Film Program and The Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program. She is a frequent speaker in the US and Latin America, on motion picture practice in the US, production, financing, distribution, international co- production, for a number of organizations including the MPAA, the Latin American Training Center, Ventana Sur, and the Festival International of Guadalajara.

Ms. Bodine regularly attends the Cannes Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival, the Berlinale, the Toronto Film Festival, the American Film Market and various other film events. She has been included in numerous listings of prominent entertainment attorneys, including by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
